LEAVES: Alternate, simple, deciduous, star shaped, dark green, 4 to 7.5" wide and long with 5 to 7 lobes, tones of yellow, purple, and red in the fall

HARDINESS: Zone 5 to 9
HABIT: Pyramidal tree, becoming somewhat rounded at the top with age
GROWTH RATE: Medium to fast
FLOWERS: Not showy, late April or May
FRUIT: 1 to 1.5" in diameter, persisting into winter, great ID feature, fruits fall for an extended period of time, December to April
SOILS: Moist, slightly acidic
LIGHTING: Full sun

MAINTENANCE: Bleeding necrosis, leaf spots, caterpillars, scale, and iron chlorosis caused by high pH.
